BASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province. Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019, BASF Zhanjiang Verbund Site Project would be BASF’s largest investment with up to US$10 billion upon completion and would be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF. BASF Zhanjiang Verbund site would ultimately be the third-largest BASF site worldwide, and will be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production by utilizing the latest digital technologies and applying the highest safety standards.
What you can expect
• You will work as a part of the global Operational EHS digital team, as well as the site digitalization team for the new Zhanjiang Verbund Site.
• You will support the ongoing use of in-house developed EHS solution during the deployment, continuous release, and unexpected outage scenarios.
• You will utilize your experience in performance diagnostics (using tools such as Datadog), based network infrastructure, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerization ecosystems to support troubleshooting efforts in collaboration with the global team.
• You will consult various site users and experts to capture requirements and provide input to the proper internal or external software development teams to ensure the delivered digital tools meet the needs of end users.
• You will coordinate the implementation of EHS digital tools for processes such as permit-to-work, isolation management, management of change (MOC), incident management, etc. and support the implementation and delivery as planned.
• Track and record the project status, provide feedback to relevant users in time, and assist the team to ensure digital tool can meet the end-user expectations and the SLA (service level agreement) .
• You will be responsible for training production and construction team members on the use of EHS digital tools including the development of training materials as needed.
What we expect
• Bachelor degree, background in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, natural sciences or information technology with over five years' experience in digital project implementation.
• Knowledge in the development of complex software solutions, preferably of cloud-based applications.
• Creative and motivated working style with a strong focus on innovation as well as excellent communication skills which define you as an effective team player.
• Experience in scoping and change management of digital products.
• Able to quickly learn new software and understand new technologies.
• Familiarity with EHS industry software solutions.
• Experience training and teaching, especially on software solutions.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.
• Skilled user of Microsoft Office 365 Tools.
